2nd Place at the Pink Box Competition

One of our GYRO groups were at the Pink Box Competition this month and we came an amazing SECOND out of 16 youth groups! Each year The Proud Trust and the network of LGBT Youth Group across the region hold the Pink Box competition to showcase the talents of young LGBT people and to raise the profile of the issues they face.
Our GYRO Tuesday group designed: ‘Teach The Teachers’ a 10 point manifesto for improving support for LGBT+ students in school and they performed their self-written campaign song (written by a 13 year old member of GYRO).

We are so proud of the young people for their amazing campaign and performance on the day!!

I worked with Emily. I enjoyed talking about what's going on in my life whilst it is being fun, it's never 'there's something wrong', it's always 'how do we help you' which I like. Emily is amazing, she's helped me so much and she's just a lovely person!!!

YPAS was the first organisation that took me in and also the quickest, Sonia helped me get through a very difficult stage in my life and has bettered me as a person. I feel better equipped to deal with situations in life and my mental health has improved overall because of it.

I felt progression and I found my strength and resilience through the sessions. I am proud of myself for staying strong and showing my commitment through the past months of my sessions. I also gained a handful of coping strategies and I maintained my balance by controlling my worries.
