YPAS Youth Workers Hannah & Claire were successful in gaining £250 funding from Childwall Valley Estate Management Board (EMB). Hannah & Claire applied for the local funding from EMB who support activities for residents from the Hartsbourne estate where the YPAS Plus hub is located. The funding was used to take young people from the YPAS Thrive group to the local Laser Quest and for food afterwards. The young people and staff who supported them had a fantastic day out and thank EMB for the funding to allow the trip to go-ahead.
The EMB and Riverside work together on community involvement and issues that could affect tenants such as welfare reform, money matters, training and employment support and developing our community garden walled project. The EMB is directed by tenants and residents from the Hartsbourne estate who delegate duties to staff to carry out housing management duties.
EMB manager Carol Lyons added:
“The EMB along with members of the Hartsbourne Forum are committed in helping to fund and support a range of activities across the community aimed at improving the quality of life for residents and their families, we hope this continues in the future.”
