CYPMHC Calls for More Investment in Children’s Mental Health Post-Autumn Budget

Together with the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Coalition and several other members, we are calling on the Government for more urgent and wide-scale action and investment in the children’s mental health system. The first budget from this Government was a crucial opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to raising the healthiest generation of children and achieving parity of esteem. There were some glimmers of hope, but more action is needed. We need to see:

  • Full rollout of Mental Health Support Teams
  • Young Futures Hubs in every community focused on providing early mental health support
  • Action to address the root causes of mental health
  • Increased investment in the children’s mental health system

As a sector we are here and ready to support.

The Government must use the Spring Budget to rest and truly invest in the mental health system for all babies, children, and young people.
