A Christmas Story….

December 20, 2017

Christmas can be a very difficult time of year for many people for many different reasons. YPAS have been very lucky this year and we wanted to share this story with you…….A woman named Cate got in touch recently regarding the offer of a toy at Christmas for children and young people who use our services.

Cate has been fundraising for the Trussell Trust that supports the Foodbank for a few years now, she holds fundraiser meals in restaurants throughout the year with proceeds going to the Foodbank.

Cate then set up a Facebook page for donations of pre-owned toys that would be given out with food parcels. This then grew and people started sending new toys – this gave Cate the idea of “Toy Hampers at Christmas Time”, last year she enabled 80 children to receive these hampers. By linking in with Mather Avenue Tesco and Woolton Tesco this year Cate will be able to provide over 130 children with Toy Hampers!

YPAS wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to Cate, Annabel & James (Cate’s children all pictured above) who have worked so hard to collect donations, sort and package them all in age appropriate boxes for the many children and young people who use YPAS services.

This year we received 49 hampers. We saw how appreciative the children were when receiving the gifts – so thank you to all the people who donated the gifts as they have been received so graciously.

Thank you so very much all your hard work is very much appreciated – From the YPAS Team.
