February is LGBT+ History Month and this year’s theme is Body, Mind and Spirit. To celebrate LGBT+ History Month, National Museums Liverpool are linking with our GYRO team to put on a special series of workshops for LGBQ+ Youth aged 12-25years.
Throughout February 2021 young people from GYRO will engage in a series of online sessions where they will have the opportunity to interview LGBTQ+ activists who were once service users of GYRO themselves. The young people will have the opportunity to ask questions and find out more about the personal journey of each of the activists they interview. In each session the interviewed activist will be asked to discuss an object they would like to place in to a time capsule for LGBTQ+ youth of the future as a representation of the Body, Mind, and Spirit of LGBTQ+ young people today. This project will focus on role models and activism as a way of improving the self-esteem and well-being of LGBTQ+ young people.
Keep an eye on our GYRO social media to find out more about the project
