Liverpool Pride 2019 a huge success

WOW is one word to sum up the Youth Zone at this years Liverpool Pride. We are so lucky to be involved in creating this years first safe space for young people at pride and it was a huge success. The rain didnt stop us. The banners, placards and all the glitter looked amazing!

Chris Porter, Team Lead at YPAS and member of our GYRO Team added: “On behalf of the LGBTQ+ team and wider staff team at YPAS we’d like to say a massive THANK YOU for all the hard work that was put in to making the Youth Zone a successful energetic and positive safe space. If you were there you’ll know there were so many amazing individuals, groups and organisations that made it a hive of activity. We know there is room for improvement which is a good thing for future events. Pride is a protest, the march was a chance for our young people to let their feelings about this be known. They know their history and want their Rights. The Youth zone helped them escape the rain, express themselves and feel safe and included in Pride, after all it’s their community and their Pride too.”

Our GYRO team also got a mention in the Liverpool Echo in the top 59 inspirational LGBTQ+ people in Liverpool. We are so proud of our staff and the hardwork they put in and this is brilliant recognition!
