We are delighted to announce that YPAS has received an amazing donation of £5,142.88 thanks to local Co-op members and the Local Community Fund.
YPAS was selected, as one of the Local Co-op causes and for 12 months has been fundraising within stores. 1% of what Co-op customers spend on selected Co-op branded products and services goes to support local causes such as YPAS through the Local Community Fund, a fantastic initiative that we are very grateful to have been selected for.
We are planning to spend the money on a minibus to offer fun day trips, in new surroundings to children and young people coping with mental illness.
YPAS Community Hubs have worked hard since opening 2016/2017 to bring people together in the local areas. Linking in with local agencies, schools & community groups ensuring that locally, people know what services are on offer and available for them. Hundreds of children and young people have attended our free youth groups. They make friends, learn new skills and have a safe space to talk supported by trained staff if they need it. We are really excited to receive the money from the Co-op Local Community fund for our mini bus.
A huge THANK YOU to the Co-op stores who have supported us this year, along with bucket collections and cakes sales we are very grateful for the support and fund raising and of course to members of the local community. It was also very important to us to be able to raise awareness in the community about our children and young people’s mental health service too; it’s been a fantastic opportunity for us.
