What is PCL?
The Primary Care Liaison (PCL) service is a team of wellbeing practitioners trained in mental health and emotional wellbeing support, for children, young people (aged 5-25 years), and families. You will be offered a 1-hour assessment session to assess and triage to either suitable support, a referral, signposting, or liaison. The PCL team is based across GPs, Primary Care Networks, and YPAS community hubs.
About
The YPAS Primary Care Liaison Service is an early intervention service that aims to give CYP (children & young people) and families, access to mental health and emotional wellbeing support.
The service is aimed at CYP from 5 – 25 years old and parents/carers. The YPAS team of Wellbeing Practitioners is qualified to offer evidence-based YPAS assessments, provide liaison between services, and support CYP and families throughout this process.
The service can be offered in GP surgeries and YPAS hubs North, South, and Central. A GP or another Primary Care Health Professional can refer you.
How will this service help me?
The PCL service offers an assessment to determine the best support for you, at this time. This might include a referral to YPAS for wellbeing, therapeutic support, or signposting to another agency and we can offer liaison between services as required.
