This is a working collaboration with ‘Thinking Film’ and ‘Tate Liverpool’ and the LGBT+ groups at YPAS as part of Homotopia festival. You Are Here is a pop-up museum of LGBT+ history on Merseyside. Personal artefacts donated by the region’s LGBT+ community will go on display at Tate Liverpool, from 29 November to 04 December. A digital archive, produced by Thinking Film, will complement the museum (with screenings to be announced).
You Are Here is delivered in partnership with GYRO, the UK’s longest running LGBT+ youth group, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2016. Young people attending the youth group will curate the museum, sharing local LGBT+ history with new and diverse audiences.
You Are Here aims to raise awareness of LGBT+ history, educating audiences and celebrating the people who have made the region a better and brighter place for LGBT+ people.
If you have an artefact that you’d like to donate to the pop-up museum, please contact: [email protected] Any artefacts donated will be returned to you.
