We are delighted to have won an award at this years North West Cultural Education Awards ceremony. The project, titled Look Closer: Altered perceptions was shortlisted for the Museum Partnership Award category and we are so happy to have won!
Young women from YPAS and Holly Lodge Girls College worked together to develop an exhibition that explores themes and issues of relevance and importance to them and their peers. Using Tracey Emins’ My Bed, (1998) as a starting point for discussions and thoughts around mental health; sexuality; bullying; gender and identity the group worked sensitively and thoughtfully to collate construct and curate a meaningful and interactive space. They used Tate Exchange to share these themes with the public, inviting dialogue and challenging perceptions and celebrating women and their individualism.
Its fantastic to be recognised at the awards ceremony for our project.
THANK YOU to everyone involved.
